The General Objectives of Teaching English Language
For the Intermediate Stage



Students will be able to:

To produce, in three years, an individual who is able to speak, read and listen with understanding to simple current English to write a connected passage of up to half a page about simple subject or incident.

2- To give pupils who finish their formal education in the Third Year Intermediate enough knowledge of the language to help them in their vocations.

3- To gave pupils who proceed the Secondary state a sound foundation on which to build their future studies.

4- To lay the foundation of a knowledge of English so they can acquire sufficient grasp of the language to enable them to preach their religion to English speakers, and to refute the errors of the enemies of Islam concerning religion.

1. To enable the pupils to survive in the real world using English
2. To give them a foundation for the secondary English course.
3. To have them learn a bout 1500 of the most useful English words.
4. To give them a clear understanding of the basic present, past and future tenses.
5. To teach them the basic grammatical structures of the language.
6. To enable them to understand what they hear on a variety of different subjects.
7. To enable them to speak ( esp. ask & answer questions ) on the same subjects.
8. To prepare them to read simple text by themselves.
9. To enable them to write a simple guided paragraph
